  Skate Station Offers Special Events for Spring Break
 
        No fooling!  April Fool's Day will be fun at Skate Station.  From 1:30-4:00 PM, a special session will be held for all ages.  Admission is $3, but those who wear a crazy outfit (backwards, inside out, mismatched) get in for half price.
 
        That night will be the "Pajama Jam" Lock-In for those in fifth grade or older.  It starts at 9 PM and continues through 6 AM on Friday.  With a special game or activity planned every half hour, those attending should make plans to stay awake all night.  There will also be contests for Best Pajamas, Best Slippers, and "Most Loved" stuffed animal.  Tickets are available in advance for $15 by March 30 or at the door for $18; that includes quad skates, pizza from 1-2:00 AM, and breakfast.
 
        On Monday, April 5, there will be an "EGGstravaganza" from 1:30-4:00 PM.  Admission is $3 each or $10 per carload.  Free skate passes are welcome, but those paying admission will receive an EGGcellent prize.

March 29-April 18, "FAIRY TALES AND SPINNING WHEELS: THE FIBER ARTS". Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center, 4596 US Highway 20 East, Freeport. Sunday thru Thursday: 8 am to 7 pm; Saturday and Sunday: 8 am to 8 pm. Spinning and weaving fairy tales and legends welcome you into a world of fiber in a preview of the spinning, weaving, tatting, knitting, crochet and felting which will be found at the 14th Annual Stephenson County Fiber Art Fair to be held on April 17 in Cedarville. The Expo will highlight fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty, Arachne, The Twelve Swans, and Rumplestiltskin which have spinning and weaving themes, as well as the unique fiber arts which will be represented at the fair. March 30-May 22, "IN THE FLESH: A CULTURAL STUDY OF BODY ART".  Freeport Art Museum, 121 N. Harlem Avenue, Freeport. Tuesday thru Friday: 10 am to 5 pm; Saturday: Noon to 5 pm. A cross-cultural exhibition of traditional and popular forms of body art, body modification and the symbolic nature of the body as a canvas. "In the Flesh" includes objects from the Museum's permanent collections, art and tattoo materials form local body art businesses, and a special photographic series dealing with contemporary tattoo practices. A special fashion show of body art will be held on April 16 at Winneshiek Playhouse, 228 W. Clark Street, Freeport. Cocktail hour begins at 6 pm with the show at 7 pm. Tickets are $6. Also on May 15, a Gallery Talk with Amelia Klem-Osterud, a tattooed academic librarian from Wisconsin and author of The Tattooed Lady: A History will be held at the Museum. March 31-August 15, JANE ADDAMS EXHIBIT. Stephenson County Historical Society Museum, 1440 S. Carroll Avenue, Freeport. Wednesday thru Sunday: Noon to 4 pm. This year marks the 150th birthday of Jane Addams, internationally famous humanitarian and social work pioneer who founded Chicago's Hull House and won the Nobel Peace Prize and who was born and raised in nearby Cedarville.  This exhibit will feature artifacts from her life.
